Hello. Welcome to the world of Pokémon. I am Oak. People call me the Pokémon Prof. This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon. Some people keep Pokémon as pets, but others use them for fights. We call them Pokémon battles. The story starts at a local's house in Pallet Town....
"Whoa! It's Gengar vs. Nidorino! This battle's going to be good!", the ref said as the Pokémon battled. Red Wood was excited watching the Pokémon regional championships. He wanted to be a Pokémon master and win the Pokémon League like his father, Bark Wood. He was hooked until his mom came in and shut off the telvision. She told him that he watched way too much T.V. and that he should go do some outdoor activities. Red went outside to greet his Poliwhirl. They were walking along when they saw some kids battling. One had a Rattata and the other had a Pidgey. Red challenged them to a battle and won easily. After the battle, a cocky kid laughed at him. It was Green Oak. He said that Red was an amateur and that he could beat him easily. Red was insulted and challenged Green. Green released his pokeball and out came a Charmander. Since it was a fire Pokémon, Red thought he would have no problem. Boy, was he wrong. Charmander ran up to Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl used water gun, but Charmander was too fast for it. It ran even faster and scratched Poliwhirl. Red called it backed so it wouldn't get seriously hurt. Green 
laughed at the fact that Red was a third-rate trainer. Red was embarassed and ran home.
The next day, he went over to Green's house because he was friends with his sister, Blue. Red had known Green and Blue for years, but didn't know much about Green. He asked Blue where he got Charmander. She said that their grandfather, Prof. Oak, gave Green a Charmander and her a Squirtle. Red went to the south part of Pallet to get to Prof. Oak's lab. As he walked in, there were researchers everywhere! Red found that the old man with the groomed white hair was Prof. Oak. 
"Excuse me, Prof.? I hear your grandchildren were given Pokémon. May I have one?", Red asked. Prof. Oak found that he only had one Pokémon left. He released the Pokémon and it was a Bulbasaur. Red loved his new Pokémon and planned to battle Green 
again.
