French Name:
Charmander is the Fire-type Starter Pokémon from Red, Blue and Green. As a starter Pokémon, it is the hardest Pokémon to train, as it is weak against the first two gyms (Rock and Water) and is good if you want a challenge. Charmander has good ATTACK and SPEED stats.

In the Pokémon TV show (Episode 11, "Charmander - The Stray Pokémon), Ash finds a Charmander that has been abandoned by its trainer Damien, waiting atop a stone. They meet its trainer, who says he doesn't want it because it is weak. A storm comes up and Ash and his friends go to rescue the Pokémon. They take it to the Pokémon Center, where it is treated, but the next morning it is gone. Team Rocket catches up with the "twerps" and captures Pikachu, but Charmander comes to the rescue and joins Ash's team.

If the flame on the end of a Charmander's tail goes out, it will die.
